Presentation & Ritual Descriptions

1:00 pm Doors open

1:20 – 1:50 Opening Circle (Stone Circle)
Laura, OLOTEAS

Join us for site and schedule orientation, and a ritual to welcome and create sacred space to hold the day.

2:00 – 3:00 Presentation: Numina locorum, florae locorum: Spirits of Place, Plants of Place (Library)
Katherine Bonnabel, MH, Sacred Well Ministries

Relationships with local plants and spirits to build communities. The inspiration for this presentation was born of a yearning to connect with the essences of magic and healing through authentic relationships with our immediate environments, with honor and respect to the spirits of the plants and the lands we dwell upon. The impetus is a growing sense of urgency to build pathways of mutual support and aid in a time when our access to social services and accurate information is in question. Learning to use the resources around us and sharing the ones we have just may be the key to our ability to thrive. Find ways to engage with other like-minded people through local meetings, rituals, workshops, and other events.

Physical and metaphysical aspect have always been intertwined in traditional folk healing, as are the wellbeing of the community and of its individuals. We will explore rituals and examples of plant magic, the use of intuitive abilities and other tools of traditional healers. Kathi is a practicing herbalist who draws from her experience working within communities, with teachers and elders, and the heritage of our ancestors. We intend to begin a dialogue here about these goals, to sow the seeds of hope for the future. Learn new ways, or perhaps relearn old ways, of reliance on ourselves and each other.

2:00 – 3:00 Ritual and Presentation: The Significance of Ritual in Thelemic Spirituality (Block House)
Kellen, Horizon Lodge – Ordo Templi Orientis

After a short demonstration of Thelemic Ritual, Br. Kellen will discuss how ritual practice fits into the broader context of Thelemic spirituality.

3:00 – 4:00 Ritual: Cast a Circle in Our Traditional Way (Sylvan Tradition) (Stone Circle)
Spectrum Grove

Spectrum Grove is offering a ritual in the Sylvan Tradition to demonstrate our practice of witchcraft and how a Sylvan ritual may look. Those that attend will leave with a personal blessing around a goal of their choosing.

3:00 – 4:00 Workshop: Façade: Masks and Performing Arts in Ritual (Library)
Nocta Autumn Selkie, The Guild of Sacred Night

Masks have been used in countless cultures around the world throughout time and across religious lines to embody archetypes, channel spirits, and convey complex concepts. But creating and putting on a mask is only the first step of using these powerful tools to facilitate profound spiritual experiences and impactful rituals. This is one part educational presentation, one part hands on exercise. Join us for an intro to mask use in pagan religion through time and cultures. Then, participate in an interactive experience of meeting the spirit of a mask, taking it on, and working with it in a spiritual skit.

3:00 – 4:00 Presentation and Ritual: Honoring the Kindreds Through Ritual Practice (Block House)
Shane, Cascadia Grove, ADF

Shane Coineandubh, Senior Druid of Cascadia Grove, ADF will provide a brief description of ADF Druidry and ritual practice, Casacadia Grove's High Day rituals, and how the grove is involved in our community. We will then conduct a bit of ADF styled ritual honoring the Earth Mother, Spirits of the Land, Lady Brigid and The Morrigan.

4:00 – 5:00 Ritual: Cauldron of Healing, Sacred Water of Renewal, Stones of Peace and Unity Druidic Triad Ritual (Stone Circle)
Circle of Coll, OBOD

In this liminal place of Concentric Circles, we invite you to join us in this druidic ritual as we create concentric circles with blessings through a cauldron of healing, sacred water of cleansing and renewal, and stones with balance in the land. Much healing, renewal, peace and unity is needed in our nation and throughout the world. In this ritual we embrace the fire of healing inspiration, the wisdom of waterdrops rippling through the world, and stone blessings of balance for our earth.

4:00 – 5:00 Presentation: Practical Considerations for Inclusive Pagan Community (Library)
Nocta Patricia Meehan, The Guild of Sacred Night

We all want our pagan spaces to be welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable for everyone, but with the wide range of faiths and identities that fall under our collective umbrella, accommodating all can be easier said than done. Please join us for a presentation exploring the topic of how to create a vibrant community while honoring its many needs.

4:00 – 5:00 Workshop: Introduction to Inner Child and Shamanic Meditation (Block House)
Amy, Westwood Healing Arts

Lecture and discussion on inner child meditation; how it can be used to engage trauma responses. Introduction to shamanic meditation, how that can be used to work with animal and plant spirits. Questions are welcome; we will begin and end with short meditations which are not designed to bring up trauma but are lighter and more foundational. There may be discussion of how to involve goddess or god in your meditation practice.

4:00 – 5:00 Growing Up Pagan: Elements (Kids’ Room)
Abhainn, Magickal Miscreants

Growing Up Pagan is a series of kids’ classes taught by second-generation Pagans, for kids growing up in the Pagan community. This month we will learn about the elements and their associations.

5:00 – 6:00 Brown bag dinner/snack break (NO POTLUCK – bring your own food)
This is designated time to break for some food. Bring your own brown-bag dinner – there will NOT be a potluck. Reminders: You can store food in the refrigerator on the back porch of the kitchen – you may want to write your name on your food. Please note you cannot prepare meat on kitchen counters (pre-cooked meat ok). No alcohol on site.

6:00 – 7:00 Ritual: First OLOTEAS Ritual (in honor of the 30th anniversary of our first event!)
Jayson, Our Lady of the Earth and Sky (OLOTEAS)

30 years ago, in February 1996, OLOTEAS held our first ritual. We’ve continued to hold public Pagan rituals every month since then, and our ritual style has evolved in these 30 years. In honor of our 30th anniversary, today we will travel back to see where we started as we perform our very first ritual again.

7:00 – 8:00 All-Ages Discussion: What is magic? (Library)
Tully, Magickal Miscreants

Bringing the Young Adult & Occult format to the broader community, in this all-ages discussion we will talk about the different ways we can conceptualize magic.

7:00 – 8:00 Presentation: The Essence of Sean Ciall (Block House)
Robert, Sean Ciall

This presentation will dive into the basics of Sean Ciall, who we are, what we do, and why we exist. We will cover the four Fire Festivals we sometimes host, dive into a brief summary of each of the three circles, Sword, Song, and Spell, and introduce the basics of our methods and madness.

8:00 – 9:00 Ritual: Persephone’s Ascent (Stone Circle)
Covenant of the Rose

Persephone's Ascent is a ritual of awakening and return, honoring the moment when life stirs beneath winter's stillness. As Persephone rises from the Underworld, the Earth remembers how to breathe again, Demeter's grief turns toward hope, and sacred fire rekindles within soil and soul alike.

8:00 – 9:00  Ritual: Fires of Brigid (Block House)
Sean Ciall

Seal Ciall will be hosting their annual Fires of Brigid Ritual as a public ritual where the participants will come together in song and dance to come face to face with the light of Lady Brigid. We will sow seeds for the coming year and put forth that which we wish to grow. Please note that the ritual is skyclad (naked), and all participants are required to disrobe as part of the ritual or be skyclad in the ritual space prior to start.

9:00 Clean-up begins
Please take all your belongings to your personal vehicles at this time. We appreciate help cleaning up the space at the end of our events as well.

9:00 – 9:15 Closing Circle (Stone Circle)
OLOTEAS

Join us for a ritual of thanksgiving for the sacred space we’ve held all day.

9:30 pm Doors close

4:00 pm: Growing Up Pagan: Imbolc & Poetry Game (with Abhainn)
This is a series of classes about what it means to grow up Pagan – taught by Pagan kids, for Pagan kids. We are all young adults who grew up in Pagan families, and these classes draw on our personal experiences of what we wish we had known growing up and the kids’ own questions about what it means to be Pagan. At this month's Growing Up Pagan: We will learn about the holiday Imbolc and play a poetry game.

4:00 pm: Workshop: "The ABCs" in Magick (with Tarrent)
At this beginner-level workshop we will have a broad introduction and discussion about the idea of Runic Alphabets, Magickal Language, and the Magick of Symbolism.

5:30 pm: Potluck -- please bring your own feast gear
We encourage you to bring your own feast gear (plate, utensils, cup) to avoid the use of disposable dinnerware.

6:30 pm: Newcomers' Orientation (with Robert)
New to Pagan events or to OLOTEAS? Come to the newcomers' discussion! We'll give you the basics of what you should know, answer any questions you have, and go over more info about what to expect from our rituals and events.

7:00 pm: Pre-Ritual Discussion, followed by Ritual: Brigid's Healing Water (with Kimberly)
At Imbolc, we ask the Bright One Lady Brigid to bless us with Healing Water to take with us for anointing when we need Healing.

After Ritual: Singing Circle (with Tully)
Join us after ritual for community singing! We will sing a selection of Pagan chants and songs. All levels of experience are welcome.

9:00 pm: Cleanup begins (with Tarrent)

9:30 pm: Closing Circle and site closes (with Tarrent)

What to Bring to the Longhouse:
Please bring a potluck dish to share. No meat may be prepared on the kitchen surfaces (pre-cooked meat is acceptable). We encourage you to bring your own feast gear (plate, utensils, cup) -- this avoids the use of disposable dinnerware. No alcohol or other intoxicants are allowed at OLOTEAS events. Bring a towel for pool/hot tub use. The Longhouse no longer loans out towels -- please bring your own. (Note: the pool area is clothing-optional.) Shoes cannot be worn indoors, so please wear a pair that can be slipped easily on and off. We strive to do the main ritual outside, regardless of weather, so please bring layered clothing for colder/wetter weather if desired. Feel free to bring and play your drums or other instruments. Also, please note that, due to allergy and wildlife concerns, no pets are allowed on site (except service animals).

Registration:
Please check in at the front door when you arrive on-site. We are sustained, and do our part to sustain our community and the wider world, through a multidirectional flow of resource contributions. These contributions include but are not limited to money, skill, talent, and material goods. We ask all those who are able to make a money donation when they come to events (usually $10 for ages 13 and up, and we're not requesting donations for ages 12 and under). This is a request, no one ever has or ever will be turned away from a regular OLOTEAS event for lack of funds, but we do sincerely ask for it if you are able.

A Note About Children:
This site features a swimming pool, hot tub, and many natural outside features that pose potential risks for unattended children. Parents are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children at OLOTEAS events. All children under 13 must be supervised at ALL times. If outdoors, or in the pool area, children must be within line-of-site of their parent or caregiver. In the pool area, an individual adult may be responsible FOR NO MORE THAN 3 CHILDREN (those under 13). Most events offer a kids' class or activity for younger kids and a Young Adult & Occult discussion group (ages 15-25). There are also some games and craft supplies available.

A Note About Parking and Carpooling:
Parking availability at the Longhouse is limited – please carpool if at all possible. Park near the outdoor "Registration" booth or along the stretch of the driveway near the outdoor kitchen and stage areas. Please park close to the adjacent vehicle, but be considerate of vehicles displaying disability license plates or signs. Once at the site, due to limited space, we advise that folks leave most personal belongings in their vehicles. There is no public transit option for the Longhouse, so if you are able to offer a ride or are looking for one, please feel free to post ride availability or requests to the OLOTEAS community email list or our Facebook group page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/oloteas/).

A Note About the OLOTEAS Parents, Etc. Facebook group:
For the parents in our community, if you are not already a member, you may be interested in joining the OLOTEAS Parents, Etc. group, where we will be sharing resources for education and entertainment for the kiddos who are stuck at home. This group is ONLY for family members of children in the OLOTEAS community, and is a private group. To join, please send a friend request to the OLOTEAS Pastor FB account (not the FB group), and also send a DM requesting membership. You will then receive an invitation to join the group.
Also see the GROWING UP PAGAN lesson plans and activity outlines available on our website now.

Healing Temple
Our virtual Healing Temple webpage is always open with resources for self-care and finding support.

Directions to the Longhouse:
Take 520 eastbound to the Redmond Way/Fall City (WA 202) Exit. Turn right at the light at the end of the off ramp. Go approximately 5 miles on Redmond-Fall City Road. Driveway is on the right, 23301 (directly across from SmartStop Self Storage). If you pass Albertson's, you have gone about 100 yards too far. When you first pull into the drive you should immediately see a large wooden sign that says The Longhouse; if you don’t you are in the neighbors’ drive.

Young Adult & Occult is a space for Pagans in their late teens and early twenties (roughly 15-25) to build community and learn together that is held monthly at OLOTEAS events (and sometimes offsite). At this month's Young Adult & Occult: We will discuss beliefs and practices around death and the afterlife.

4:00 pm: Growing Up Pagan: Carving Pumpkins! (with Shay and Valentine)
At this month's Growing Up Pagan: We will carve pumpkins in the Blockhouse! All pumpkins and carving supplies will be provided.

4:00 pm: Memorial votive altar is open -- to the West of the Stone Circle
All are welcome to light a candle at the memorial votive altar, to remember our Beloved Dead.

4:00 pm: Workshop: Planning a Pagan Funeral (with guest presenter Cassie Gendelk)

5:30 pm: Potluck & Pick of the Potluck -- please bring your own feast gear
We encourage you to bring your own feast gear (plate, utensils, cup) to avoid the use of disposable dinnerware.
Bring your favorite homemade dish -- this month we're again having a Pick of the Potluck competition! :)

6:30 pm: Newcomers' Orientation (with Laura)
New to Pagan events or to OLOTEAS? Come to the newcomers' discussion! We'll give you the basics of what you should know, answer any questions you have, and go over more info about what to expect from our rituals and events.

7:00 pm: Pre-Ritual Discussion, followed by Ritual: Facing Sorrow and Fear with Community (with Tarrent)
We come together in community to name our Sorrows and Fears, and to make space for grieving and honoring our beloved dead and ancestors.
After the ritual, a Healing Temple will be open. The Healing Temple is a space offered for rest, refreshment, self-care, and contemplation. Help is available for grounding and centering or to lend a listening ear.
NOTE: As is our custom, we will read the names of our beloved and mighty dead during the ritual.  If you have a name to be read, please send it to [email protected] before 5pm on Friday, October 24 . Please include a pronunciation guide. You do not need to be present at the event to submit a name. Names of any beloved beings, not just humans, are welcome.

9:00 pm: Cleanup begins (with Jane)

9:30 pm: Closing Circle and site closes (with Jane)

-- October: The Pan/Aphrodite Shrine is open this month, in the Greenhouse.

Take some time to release the cares and concerns of the world we are leaving behind for the weekend, with some silent meditation time at the Lady Shrine on the Thumb.

11:00 p.m. – Workshop: Stargazing (with Robert, Stone Circle)
Weather permitting, a casual naked-eye guided tour of the summer sky from the end of twilight until moonrise. Many stars, at least one galaxy and possibly two, with some emphasis on orienteering and wayfinding. Bring a ground-blanket, binoculars if you have them, a friend, and a warm beverage.

Saturday
11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Workshop: Country Dance Class (with Tully, Shay, Stephanie, Pool Area Dance Floor)
Learn a few Scottish Country Dances to prepare the post-ritual cèilidh tonight!

12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. – Workshop: What Is Sean Ciall? (with Robert, Community Center)
Presentation and Q&A with the creators of the Fires of Lughnasadh rituals. Who we are, what we do the rest of the year, and why our rituals need subtitles but don’t have any.

1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. – Kids’ Ritual Creation (with Sebastien, Covered Eating Area)
During this Kids’ Class, we will be learning about ritual creation, and students will get the chance to plan a community ritual as a group, to be presented on Sunday.

 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. – Young Adult & Occult (with Abhainn, Workshop Tent)
At this month’s YA&O we will be having a group discussion about the different ways we can conceptualize magic.

4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. – Workshop: Dark Goddesses: From Dark Goddess to Sovereignty (with Jennifer, Community Center)
Join me as I discuss the next level of the Dark Goddess presentation. How do the dark archetypes show up in your life? What messages are living inside of you? What energy are you afraid of tapping into? Join me as we examine our wildness.

5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. – All-Ages Discussion: Interacting with Deities (with Tully, Workshop Tent)
Bringing the Young Adult & Occult format to the broader community, in this all-ages discussion we will talk about the different ways that we can interact with deities.

8:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. – Ritual: Fires of Lughnasadh (with Sean Ciall, Stone Circle)
“How we found Lugh, and what we did to him when we found him.”
Join the Cascadian Sean Ciall community as we sacrifice, ignite, and celebrate Lugh as the embodiment of this year’s harvest.
Note: Ritual is skyclad for all participants!

9:00 p.m.-Open Cèilidh (with Sean Ciall, Stone Circle)
Celtic dance party is open for everyone and clothing-optional!

Sunday

9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. – Ritual: Blowing on the Embers (with Stephanie, Stone Circle)
It’s the morning after John Barleycorn’s sacrifice, and now what? The People gather to recognize reciprocity, responsibility, and resolve in this walking meditation to the Altar of the Sun. Gather around the fire pit in the Stone Circle. If you are safely able to fast, consider doing so in the morning prior to the ritual.

11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Workshop: Quaker Pagan Meeting for Worship (with Laura, Workshop Tent)
Join us for a Sunday meditative workshop to reflect on the weekend. This workshop will combine Quaker and Pagan methods of worship into one. Quakers worship by gathering in silence and inviting the Divine to speak through them. We will begin with a brief orientation for people who have
never attended Quaker Meeting for Worship. A circle will be cast in Pagan style, and then we will gather in silence. Participants will be invited
to contemplate on the festival of Lughnasadh and share any Divine messages with the assembled.

12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. – Kids’ Community Ritual (with Sebastien, Stone Circle)
12:00 - Kids’ Cast Call!
12:30 - Ritual! On Saturday the Kids’ Class created their own ritual. Now they’ll perform it for the whole community! Adults are welcome to attend!

1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. – Workshop: Nerdy or Nazi (with Bobby, Community Center)
With white supremacism on the rise within our country and within NeoPaganism in particular, understanding which symbols are and are not
indicative of hate groups has become critical. We will discuss symbolism with multiple meanings and contexts, distinguishing credible
threats, unfortunate but innocent look-alikes, and the “yellow flags” in between.

2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. – Workshop: Veiling (with Abhainn, Community Center)
A workshop and discussion about veiling and hair decoration as a Pagan religious practice. Some scarves will be provided for (optional!) practice,
but you’re also welcome to bring your own!

2:45 p.m. – Ritual: Fires of Lughnasadh Closing Circle (with Sean Ciall, Stone Circle)
We will close out the space with an explanation of the acts of the circles throughout the ritual cycle, and say goodbye to our community before
singing together of our spiritual home.

3:30 p.m.– Ritual: OLOTEAS Closing Circle (with Jane, Stone Circle)
Center and ground after the weekend of excitement, and say our farewells to the site and to our community.

4:00 p.m.– Site Closes

Workshops & Rituals:

2:00 pm: Longhouse site opens

2:30 pm: Opening Circle (with Robert)

3:00 pm: All-ages activity: StitchNWitch (with Tarrent)
StitchNWitch is a social gathering where the community can come together with their favorite crafts (it doesn't have to be stitching!) and join one another in a shared love of crafting and open round-table-style conversation about various topics and interests.

3:00 pm: Young Adult & Occult Discussion Group: New and Old (with Tully)
Young Adult & Occult is a space for Pagans in their late teens and early twenties (roughly 15-25) to build community and learn together that is held monthly at OLOTEAS events (and sometimes offsite). At this month's Young Adult & Occult: We will discuss the ways we incorporate established traditions and new approaches in our own spiritual practices.

4:00 pm: GUP Kids' Activity: Animism and Spirits (with Abhainn)
This is a series of classes about what it means to grow up Pagan – taught by Pagan kids, for Pagan kids. We are all young adults who grew up in Pagan families, and these classes draw on our personal experiences of what we wish we had known growing up and the kids’ own questions about what it means to be Pagan. At this month's Growing Up Pagan: We will learn about animism and spirits while drawing plants in the garden.
Please send your kids with sunscreen already applied!

4:00 pm:  Workshop: All-Ages Discussion (with Sebastien)
Topic TBD

5:30 pm: Potluck -- please bring your own feast gear
We encourage you to bring your own feast gear (plate, utensils, cup) to avoid the use of disposable dinnerware.

6:30 pm: Newcomers' Orientation (with Laura)
New to Pagan events or to OLOTEAS? Come to the newcomers' discussion! We'll give you the basics of what you should know, answer any questions you have, and go over more info about what to expect from our rituals and events.

7:00 pm: Pre-Ritual Discussion, followed by Ritual: A Ritual for the Community, to Work Energy Toward Our Will (with Kimberly)
We come together to share our gratitudes and raise energy together towards the wishes we have for the world, our community, and ourselves. All energy raised will be for the good of all and harming none. Feel free to bring your drums for after ritual!

After Ritual: Drum Circle (with Tully and Shay)
Join us after ritual for community drumming and dancing.
Drums are available to borrow, or bring your own.
Beginners welcome!

9:00 pm: Cleanup begins (with Sebastien)

9:30 pm: Closing Circle and site closes (with Sebastien)
