OLOTEAS Workshop Standards
OLOTEAS workshops are provided for the general education of the OLOTEAS community. Topics should have some relevance to community interests or concerns, and are ideally (although not always) coordinated with the ritual director for the month to be related to the ritual in some way.
Workshops may be facilitated by any qualified instructor who is willing to work with the current Education Coordinator and/or Pastor to determine an appropriate time and topic for their workshop. An instructor’s qualifications will be based on the topic they which to teach. Generally, no special qualifications are required other than familiarity with the workshop topic. However, in some cases an instructor may be required to have appropriate certification to teach (for example, a first aid workshop may only be taught by an appropriately credentialed instructor).
Volunteer workshop facilitators and instructors are invited to present at monthly events and occasional festivals, as scheduled by the Education Coordinator and/or festival committees. Typically, workshop time slots are 1-1.5 hours, although exceptions may be made. Workshop providers are expected to supply any materials needed for their workshop; the Education Coordinator can provide prospective presenters with information about audio-visual equipment and space considerations.
Anyone interested in presenting a workshop is invited to talk to the Education Coordinator at an OLOTEAS event, or email OLOTEAS (at) oloteas (dot) org.
