Young Adult & Occult is a space for Pagans in their late teens and early twenties (roughly 15-25) to build community and learn together that is held monthly at OLOTEAS events (and sometimes offsite). At this month's Young Adult & Occult we'll have a group discussion about ethical beliefs within Pagan cultural and community spaces.

With so much information available to us about this topic, what does natural healing mean, how do we assess different resources and techniques, and what are the risks and benefits?

The Solstice has passed and the days are getting longer, but are we feeling more light in our lives yet? In this meditative ritual we will make an active effort to deliberately bring light back into the world, for ourselves and for the good of all.
​If you are able, bring a candle, matches/lighter, and something to write on and with to the ritual.

The light of the year returns, the full moon flares, but then dims and the world seems to dip into darkness again. The post-holiday lull, the return to school rush, the new year's resolutions, the pile up of work, and current events... sometimes it feels like it's all too much. In this self-care ritual, we will look for something that we can set aside for a time—not banish or get rid of, but something we can come back to—like the moon fading, resting, then growing back to fullness.

Is it important for Pagans to understand the history and context of other religions? And how do you see that the views of holy books affect politics in today's world?

This is a half hour where we all mute and sing along to a Pagan Carol playlist on YouTube (or just listen) while making paper snowflakes (or other preferred crafting :)). All vids have on-screen lyrics and a sheet of snowflake patterns is provided for download. This will be Zoom-muted so that all can hear the carols – and so everyone can sing along as loudly as they want! Come join in the fun for some Pagan Holiday spirit. :)
Please have some paper and scissors for snowflake-making.

IMPORTANT NOTES 

• Saturday is an all-outdoor event with no access to indoor spaces except the pool. All indoor restrooms are closed. The outdoor restrooms are available.
• Please bring your own dinner & your own coolers etc. as needed. There is also Albertsons and Subway up the driveway and across the street.
• No access to Outdoor Kitchen. There is no microwave, fridge, or oven available.

1:00–1:55 pm: Young Adult & Occult Discussion Group: Conceptualizing Pagan Spiritual Community
Young Adult & Occult is a space for Pagans in their late teens and early twenties (roughly 15-25) to build community and learn together that is held monthly at OLOTEAS events (and sometimes offsite). At this month's Young Adult & Occult: We are hosting a discussion group about Pagan spiritual community, and different ways that we can conceptualize it. 

2:00–3:30 pm: Workshop: Nazi or Nerd? Identifying Symbols of White Supremacism in Modern Neopaganism (with Bobby & Jane)
Saturday class is in-person without audiovisuals, Sunday is an online redux with better graphics.

3:30–4:00 pm:  Kids' Workshop: Growing Up Pagan: Making Fairy Houses! (with the Magickal Miscreants)
At this month's Growing Up Pagan we are making fairy houses!

Join us for a gathering to honor the gods, the ancestors, and ourselves. Though based on the traditions of the Asatru faith, this ritual is non-denominational—all are welcome! Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged.

ABOUT MASKS AND VACCINE STATUS ON SATURDAY
Washington State is at an all-time high for Covid-19 hospitalizations. Infection can be spread by vaccinated people and by people who are infected but have no symptoms.

• The Longhouse residents would like all eligible people who come on site to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
• We ask all attendees over the age of 5 to wear a face mask over their mouth and nose at all times, except while in the pool or eating and drinking. If you do not have your own, masks are provided onsite. 
• During the Picnic Dinner time, households should remain socially distant from other households while eating with their masks off. Please bring your own dinner, coolers, etc. or Albertsons and Subway are up the driveway and across the street. 
• As a community, we care for each other. Our events are inclusive of children who are too young to be vaccinated against Covid-19. If you are eligible to be vaccinated but have chosen not to be, for the safety of yourself and others, please attend our online services on Sunday instead of attending the in-person event.
• OLOTEAS staff are all fully vaccinated and are wearing masks.

Driveway is on the right, 23301 (directly across from SmartStop Self-Storage). If you pass Albertsons, you have gone about 100 yards too far. When you first pull into the drive you should immediately see a large wooden sign that says The Longhouse; if you don’t you are in the neighbors’ drive.

The July OLOTEAS Earth and Sky Pagan Camp is a hybrid outdoor/online event this year –

for community, ritual, and Karol's cooking!

Sunday, July 25, workshop programming is online over Zoom, noon-5:00 PM

Registration Cost: 
Saturday registration is onsite only – $15 for ages 13+, $5 for 13 and under and ritualists/volunteers/presenters
Sun online programming is free to all

Saturday's in-person programming includes rituals from OLOTEAS and Cascadian Sean Ciall, a Healing Temple, a life drawing workshop, and plenty of time to catch up on all the social time we've missed over the past year and a half!
We are happy to say Karol is vending brunch and dinner, noon-3pm and 6:30-8:00 on Saturday!
Sunday's online programming is focused on workshops.

Things to know about SATURDAY July 24 on site at the Longhouse:

• Sat ESP is an outdoor ONLY event, with the exception of the pool room. Pool room outside doors will be open at all times. Pool will be open but indoor hot tub is closed. (Outdoor hot tub will be open if available, but may not be.) 
• There is absolutely NO access to any indoor spaces, *including the pool area restroom*. The Shrine is closed this year.
• This event is clothing-optional for the entire site, as usual for ESP (Note that, as usual, future in-person events are NOT clothing-optional, except for the pool area). The Sean Ciall FoL ritual Sat evening is mandatory skyclad (nude) with the possible exception of masks (see below).

ABOUT MASKS

• While we meet entirely outdoors, mask wearing is optional. Staff will be masked.
• We ask everyone who is over age two and unvaccinated to wear a face mask over your mouth and nose at all times, except while in the pool or eating and drinking.
• If you are unvaccinated and choose not to wear a mask, please maintain 6' of social distance from others while on site.
• When you register on site, you will choose a red or green wrist band to indicate if you are requesting people to maintain social distance of 6', or if that is not necessary for you.
• During the Sean Ciall evening FoL ritual, only 100% cotton masks may be worn OR you must remain in the outer circle of participants as far from the fire as possible. 100% cotton masks will be provided for all participants who want them.
• As a community, we care for each other. In considering whether to wear a mask at an outdoor event, remember that our events are inclusive of people who for many reasons cannot yet (or ever) be vaccinated against covid-19, and act accordingly.

Online Workshop Descriptions for Sunday

12:30 Pagan Quaker Meeting for Worship (with Laura)
A long-standing ESP tradition, virtual for the second year! Join us for a Sunday meditative workshop to reflect on the weekend. This workshop will combine Quaker and Pagan methods of worship into one. Quakers worship by gathering in silence and inviting the Divine to speak through them. We will begin with a brief orientation for people who have never attended Quaker Meeting for Worship. A circle will be cast in Pagan style, and then we will gather in silence. Participants will be invited to contemplate on the festival of Lughnasadh and share any Divine messages with the assembled.

1:45 The Wheel of the Year (with the Magickal Miscreants)
In recognition of the summer holiday, the OLOTEAS youth leadership will be running a beginner to intermediate level workshop on the Wheel of the Year and temporal cycles.

3:00 Astral Projection as a Tool for Self-Healing (with Rich Benack)
This workshop will look at how Astral Projection (AP), trance work, and biofeedback can be used as a tool for helping to keep yourself healthy. Our focus will be on how AP can help you stay physically, mentally, and psychically healthy during these difficult times.
We will look at:
-- What is Astral Projection & trancework and how does it work?
-- Learning about the role your subconscious plays in keeping you healthy
-- Introduction to biofeedback and managing your own body
-- How AP can help others with their own healings
-- A guided visualization to explore biofeedback and examine your own health
CAVEAT: This workshop is not a substitute for seeking advice from a licensed medical professional

Young Adult & Occult is a space for Pagans in their late teens and early twenties (roughly 15-25) to build community and learn together that is held monthly at OLOTEAS events (and sometimes offsite). The topic for this month's YA&O discussion is Everyday Folk Magic.

4:45–6:15 pm Workshop: Pagan Accessories and Magickal Jewelry (with Tarrent) 
For this workshop we will go over Magickal and Spiritual Accessories and what that means in Pagan spaces. We will discuss the various applications of jewelry or accessories including Amulets, Talismans, Prayer Beads, Veiling, and more! If times allows, we will do a brief example of setting intention into an accessory or item, and charging both initially and with continued use.
Anyone who wishes to participate in the exercise should prepare an item such as stones or beads, an already finished piece of jewelry, or even just an accessory they wish to set intentions into, as well as anything they want to aid in their process (candles/incense/etc.). This is not required to attend the workshop, and is purely optional for the exercise at the end.

A SECOND virtual Beltaine? Are you kidding? But with the longer days we are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Join us for a ritual to explore where we've been and where we're going, with gratitude, hope, and virtual May Baskets for all.
​For this ritual, if you are able to, please have a candle, a small vessel of water, and a flower of any sort (can be real, paper, silk, etc.) to help you participate.

For the parents in our community, if you are not already a member, you may be interested in joining the OLOTEAS Parents, Etc. group, where we will be sharing resources for education and entertainment for the kiddos who are stuck at home. This group is ONLY for family members of children in the OLOTEAS community, and is a private group.
